Job summary

ProStaffing is seeking a Lead Mold Maintenance Tech/Toolmaker for an injection molding environment in Hickory, NC. You will lead maintenance and repair of molds, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure tooling readiness for production.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years hands-on mold experience, understands mold construction, and can troubleshoot issues with standard toolroom equipment. Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus. This is a first shift, direct hire opportunity.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience maintaining or repairing injection molding and/or thermoforming molds in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating standard toolroom machinery and equipment.
• Ability to identify mold issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete necessary repairs.
• Associate degree or Mold-making apprenticeship as listed.
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair injection molding and thermoforming molds.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to prevent tooling failures and downtime.
• Diagnose mold-related issues and assist with troubleshooting during production.
• Use standard toolroom equipment to perform mold maintenance and repairs.
• Evaluate mold conditions and communicate repair needs to tooling engineering.
• Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance, repairs, and tooling history.
• Monitor spare tooling components and maintain organized parts inventory.
• Ensure molds and tooling are properly stored, maintained, and ready for production.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to address tooling concerns.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized toolroom.

Education & Additional Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Science or a related technical field.
• Completed mold-making apprenticeship.
• Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
