Job summary

Kustomer Inc. is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the Foundation team in New York. You will lead critical backend components, improve developer experience, and drive architectural changes across databases, event buses, and search systems.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, advancing observability, and collaborating with InfoSec for security compliance, while delivering scalable, low-latency solutions across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years experience building and managing large-scale, highly available, distributed web applications.
• Mastery of a high-level programming language like Go, Python, JavaScript, etc.
• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Own technical architecture discussions and lead decisions for an engineering organization.
• Lead and mentor engineers through technical projects and initiatives.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform.
• Experience designing sharding configurations for databases.
• Experience developing internal tools for others.
• Experience creating SLAs, SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers on complex infrastructure projects and initiatives.
• Analyze, design, develop, and improve software infrastructure and platform.
• Drive scalability, performance, and availability improvements.
• Collaborate with CTO and leaders to set the vision for development efforts.
• Bridge gaps across backend systems and data platform, driving best practices.
