Job summary

Bloomberg’s Customer Distribution Infrastructure team seeks an experienced engineer to build high-throughput, fault-tolerant data propagation and caching systems that power thousands of machines and billions of daily transactions across Bloomberg’s enterprise.

You will design across backend services, APIs, caches and observability platforms, partner with application teams to evolve the data model, enforce governance, and deliver low-latency access with strong operational resilience at global

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience designing, developing and releasing high-quality software in Python, C++, C# and/or TypeScript/JavaScript
• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Scale local and remote caching layers to ensure low-latency data retrieval
• Architect Kubernetes-friendly caching solutions for cloud-native clients
• Revamp the Customer Record data model to support evolving business processes
• Implement data governance and compliance frameworks to enforce privacy and security
• Optimize update flows, queue-based event propagation and database replication
• Establish strict SLOs/SLAs and build observability dashboards using Grafana and latency analysis
