Job summary

Bath Area Family YMCA is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher to supervise an infant classroom within the Enrichment Program, building nurturing relationships with children and collaborating with families.

The successful candidate will bring experience with young children, familiarity with Maine Early Childhood guidelines and NAEYC standards, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication skills, committed to quality early care and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in ECE or related field.
• Experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
• At least 18 years of age.
• State of Maine childcare provider background check.
• CPR, first aid, AED certifications, and child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of assistant and support teachers to operate an infant classroom and ensure safety.
• Provide a learning environment tailored to developmental needs and interests of infants.
• Communicate with children using positive language through play, stories, and routines.
• Implement positive behavior management aligned with the program's philosophy.
• Ensure safe, engaging mealtime activities and supportive dining environment.
• Recognize individual needs and learning styles of each child and respect family values.
