Job summary

The Bath Area Family YMCA Brunswick ELC is hiring a Lead Infant Teacher to supervise a team of assistants and provide a nurturing, safe learning environment for infants. You will design developmentally appropriate activities, support social-emotional growth, and partner with families to understand each child’s needs.

The position requires experience with young children, familiarity with Maine Early Childhood Learning Guidelines, Creative Curriculum, and NAEYC standards, plus current CPR/First

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in childcare setting.
• Familiarity with Maine Early Childhood Learning Guidelines, Creative Curriculum, and NAEYC standards.
• State of Maine childcare provider background check.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of assistant and support teachers to operate an infant classroom and ensure infant safety.
• Provides a learning environment tailored to infants' developmental needs and interests.
• Communicates with children using positive language and interacts through play, stories, and routines.
• Implements positive behavior support consistent with program philosophy.
• Ensures safe, engaging mealtime activities and supportive dining environments.
• Recognizes individual learning styles and cultural backgrounds of each child.
