Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in a Head Teacher capacity, preferably with infants.
• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Meet education/credential requirements to serve as Head Infant Teacher in New York.
• Experience with infants and knowledge of infant development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Commitment to creating trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• COVID-19 vaccination; flu vaccination (Vivvi Upper East Side only).

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive, nurturing care for infants in a warm, engaging classroom.
• Design and implement developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based activities for infants.
• Support infants in reaching developmental milestones through play, exploration and sensory experiences.
• Establish routines for feeding, sleeping, diapering, and transitions.
• Build strong relationships with families through regular communication.
• Maintain a safe, clean, inclusive infant classroom.
• Observe and document children’s development to inform individualized learning experiences.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership to uphold Vivvi’s mission and standards.
