Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Estimator in Sugar Land, TX to analyze drawings, specifications, RFPs, and proposals to prepare material quotes, direct costs, and labor estimates for projects.

You will use estimating tools, develop quotes, and coordinate with clients and vendors to refine numbers. The role requires reading mechanical/electrical drawings, P&ID take-offs, PLC/DCS knowledge, and experience with 30/60/90% design estimates.

Qualifications

• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Take-offs of P&IDs for process and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of PLC and/or DCS systems.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control valve products.
• Experience developing complex estimates from 30%, 60%, and 90% design status.
• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; proficient in PDF tools (Bluebeam/Adobe).
• Engineering degree or related work experience.

Responsabilités

• Preconstruction engineering review and assessment of plans and specs.
• Review information to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for planning, bidding and vendor selection.
• Develop quotes using estimating tools and update pricing databases.
• Consult with clients, vendors and internal teams to discuss estimates.
• Participate in pre-submittal walks and meetings to substantiate labor estimates.
