Job summary

Tetra Tech Digital Systems in Colorado seeks an experienced instrumentation and controls engineer to lead municipal water and wastewater automation projects. You will design control strategies, develop P&IDs, and specify complete automation systems including PLC, HMI, DCS, and networks.

You will mentor engineers, lead project execution, migrate legacy SIMATIC 505 systems to Rockwell PLCs with IFIX/VTScada or Wonderware HMIs, and ensure safety standards. Travel is required; a PE is a strong plus.

Qualifications

Four-year engineering degree or 5 years relevant work experience.
5+ years of experience with Simatic 505 hardware and AB ControlLogix PLCs.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
PE certification is a strong plus.
Experience with Water & Waste Water treatment plants.

Responsibilities

Develop control strategies and input to P&IDs, control system specs and termination diagrams.
Design, specification and integration of automation systems (PLC, HMI, DCS, networks).
Lead control panel design, BOM, cabling, programming and commissioning.
Perform FAT, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
Coordinate with Project Managers and Technical Engineers; report status and risks.
Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
Travel as required to projects.
