St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis seeks a Lead In Vivo Researcher to direct the in vivo components of our translational genome engineering program for hemoglobinopathies and pediatric diseases.

You will manage humanized models, oversee genome editing delivery, and champion rigorous animal welfare. Responsibilities include leading in vivo studies, performing MACS and multi-color flow cytometry, mentoring staff, and ensuring compliance with ILAR, USDA, and 3Rs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field is required.
• Master's degree or higher is heavily preferred given advanced scientific nature of HSC handling and genome engineering evaluations.
• 5+ years of research experience is required.
• 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree is required.
• Crucial In Vivo Expertise with humanized models and specialized disease models.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex in vivo studies using humanized and disease-relevant models to evaluate genome engineering outcomes.
• Perform isolation, phenotypic characterization, and preparation of human HSCs and related populations using MACS and flow cytometry.
• Engraftment and maintenance of advanced humanized models to support translational studies.
• Administer in vivo delivery approaches for experimental therapies, ensuring scientific rigor and welfare.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of health monitoring, engraftment outcomes, and flow cytometry data.
• Mentor early-career team members on MACS/flow cytometry and HSC protocols.
• Develop and implement refined in vivo methodologies and minimally invasive treatments.
