Charles River Laboratories in Massachusetts is seeking a Research Technician II (Surgical Services) to serve as lead technician for multiple in-life studies, collect data, and mentor junior staff.

The role involves animal handling, administration of test substances, SOP and GLP compliance, and accurate data reporting. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:30am–4:00pm, with overtime as needed. Pay is $27.50/hour, with variation by experience and location.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in animal or life sciences or related discipline.
• 1-3 years experience in animal research and/or husbandry; multi-species preferred.
• AALAS LAT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of GLPs and federal regulations for laboratory animals.

Responsabilidades

• Lead/primary technician for basic and complex in-life studies.
• Administer test substances by various basic/intermediate methods.
• Perform in-life procedures (clipping, handling, weighing, dosing).
• Collect/record data and biological specimens per GLPs/SOPs.
• Input/edit data in computer systems; maintain study notebooks.
• Observe animal health and wellbeing; mentor junior staff.
• Review/update SOPs; ensure QA/compliance; prepare forms.
• Read protocols; extract pertinent study information; support audits.
• Maintain proper documentation and handle SOP deviations.
• Use GLPs, SOPs, and company policies in all functions.
