Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking an experienced Study Technician II to join the Insourcing Solutions team in Cambridge, MA. You will observe, monitor, and document health and the environment within the client’s animal facility, handling and restraining animals, and performing data collection and reporting.

Responsibilities include administering test substances, rodent procedures, euthanasia, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and lab requirements.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Biological Sciences or related field with 2.5 years laboratory animal research experience.
• Associate’s degree in veterinary technology or equivalent with 3.5 years laboratory animal research experience.
• High School Diploma with at least 4.5 years of laboratory animal research experience.
• LAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor and document health and the physical environment within the client’s animal facility.
• Handle and restrain animals; conduct clinical observations, veterinary nursing, disease model palliative care, and sample collection.
• Administer test substances by basic methods.
• Perform rodent procedures including blood collection, necropsy, injections, and euthanasia.
