Job summary

Charles River is seeking a Research Technician I to support preclinical studies in our Massachusetts facilities. You will handle animals, collect data, and assist with study procedures under GLP and SOP guidelines.

The role involves a Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday schedule with overtime as needed, and an hourly rate of $24.50. This position emphasizes careful recordkeeping, team collaboration, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; Bachelor's preferred.
• 1 year or less animal research experience preferred.
• ALAT certification preferred.
• Ability to work in a regulated research environment and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-life study procedures including animal handling, restraint, body weight collection, dosing and related tasks.
• Administer test substances using routine methods such as oral gavage.
• Monitor health and welfare through observations and food intake assessments.
• Record data accurately in GLP-compliant systems and SOPs.
• Prepare study materials and maintain study rooms and equipment.
• Provide husbandry support and maintain clean, compliant work areas.
