Job summary

The Foth Companies seeks a Lead Hydrogeologist to guide hydrogeological work across multiple Wisconsin and Minnesota locations, with a hybrid schedule. The role emphasizes technical leadership, budgeting, and client-focused solutions in groundwater studies.

You will mentor team members, develop regional hydrogeology approaches, and collaborate with project managers to ensure rigorous, compliant outcomes for complex sites and regulatory projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 10+ years of hydrogeology experience, including 5+ years of hands-on field work.
• Experience coordinating field characterization programs (aquifer testing, hydrophysical profiling, groundwater modeling).
• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects, including budgets, schedules, regulatory and contractual commitments.
• Experience integrating hydrogeologic investigations with feasibility studies and alternatives analyses.
• Experience providing expert witness testimony at environmental hearings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of hydrogeological aspects of projects.
• Work with project managers to estimate project costs and consult on technical approach.
• Develop technical approaches for regional hydrologic characterization of groundwater systems.
• Provide project and technical leadership on complex, multi-disciplined projects, including managing a portion of a project’s budget, scope, schedule, regulatory and contractual commitments.
• Develop and implement technical approaches for numerical analysis of groundwater and surface water systems in support of permitting, industrial development and site remediation.
• Teach, mentor and develop other members, as well as serve as a resource in the area of hydrogeology.
