Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. You will analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control and water resources, leading engineers and coordinating with related disciplines on projects in the United States and beyond.

Responsibilities include preparing proposals, budgets, schedules, and contract documents; conducting site inspections; and mentoring junior staff while supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control, hydroelectric, and water resource projects.
• Lead project teams of structural engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary groups.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for proposals and projects.
• Forecast workload and monitor budgets and schedules.
• Prepare contract documents including drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering services during construction and review submittals.
• Conduct inspections and structural assessments of existing structures.
• Present technical information to project teams and clients.
