Job summary

Elmar Heating & Cooling is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Installer to manage residential installations in the Greater Baltimore area, including ductless mini-splits and traditional systems. Lead a crew, troubleshoot issues, and ensure work meets manufacturer specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on residential HVAC installation experience.
• Ability to independently lead residential HVAC installations.
• Strong experience installing conventional split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, and gas furnaces.
• Experience installing and commissioning ductless mini-split systems.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow manufacturer installation requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform physical duties in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential HVAC installation projects from start to finish.
• Install and replace central air conditioning systems, gas furnaces, heat pumps, and air handlers.
• Install ductless mini-split systems (single-zone and multi-zone).
• Oversee installation helpers and junior technicians, providing direction and training.
• Perform equipment startups, commissioning, system testing and quality checks.
• Troubleshoot installation challenges and make sound field decisions.
• Read wiring diagrams and manufacturer specs and ensure code compliance.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and maintain clean, safe job sites.
