Job summary

Daikin Comfort Technologies is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the development and sustainment of HVAC products for residential or commercial applications. You will provide technical expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration, guiding design teams through complex problem solving and testing.

This role requires extensive experience in product design within HVAC or automotive industries, strong project management skills, and the ability to mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; MS preferred.
• 15+ years HVAC/auto product design experience.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.
• Strong project management and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coach engineering team in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration.
• Support NPD with DFMEA, DFx, and testing analysis.
• Lead engineering design reviews and document development (DFMEA, test plans).
• Coordinate main engineering docs and cross-functional reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives in design phase.
