The University of Houston System seeks an HVAC Mechanic to inspect, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on heating and cooling systems across campus facilities. This security-sensitive role requires Texas driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and at least three years of related experience with relevant certifications or licensing.
You will oversee maintenance activities and may lead other HVAC mechanics, including emergency responses.

Inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to various heating and air conditioning systems. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
THIS JOB REQUIRES A VALID TEXAS DRIVER'S LICENSE.
High School Diploma or GED Required
MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Education verification will be conducted upon acceptance of an employment offer.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience. Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job, as specified on a job description addendum.
