Job summary

University of Houston System is seeking an HVAC technician to inspect, repair and perform preventative maintenance on various heating and air conditioning systems. This role includes directing other HVAC mechanics and may involve emergency repairs when needed.

A valid Texas driver's license and a minimum of three years of relevant experience are required; security checks will be conducted. Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED, and professional HVAC certification or licensing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
• Technical certification or licensing related to the job as specified on the description addendum.
• All positions are security sensitive and require criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Inspects operation of HVAC systems and performs preventative maintenance schedules.
• Assigns and inspects completed work and work in progress.
• Provides technical direction to other HVAC mechanics.
• May perform emergency repairs when necessary.
• May be required to work special assignments during emergencies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
