Job summary

Work With Your Handz LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Lead HVAC Installer to lead complete residential system changes, retrofits, and installations, ensuring all work meets local codes and customer expectations.

You will mentor assistants on job sites, read schematics and duct layouts, emphasize safety, and use customer-service skills to present options and IAQ upgrades.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience performing residential HVAC installations and lead change-outs.
• EPA Universal Certification is required.
• Knowledgeable of current local mechanical codes and able to complete a mathematical aptitude evaluation.
• Tech-savvy; comfortable using an iPad and smartphone for field workflows (ServiceTitan experience is a plus).
• Must be 21 years or older with a valid state driver's license and a reasonable driving record (Texas license within 30 days).
• High school diploma or GED; English reading/writing skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Willing to complete pre-employment background checks and drug testing.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds; outdoor work in all weather; able to access attics/crawlspaces.

In your role as a Lead HVAC Installer, you will be responsible for leading complete residential HVAC system change-outs, equipment retrofits, duct modifications, and installations. You will use your customer service training to educate and assist homeowners, ensuring every installation meets or exceeds local codes and customer expectations.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Lead and perform full residential HVAC system replacements, heat pump retrofits, ductwork modifications, and equipment installations.
• Know local mechanical and municipal codes and apply them in a practical manner on every job, ensuring all installation work meets or exceeds code compliance standards.
• Utilize customer service training to educate and assist customers, clearly presenting accessory options, indoor air quality (IAQ) solutions, and system upgrades to drive performance earnings.
• Successfully read and interpret system schematics, airflow designs, and low-voltage wiring diagrams.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, complying with all company and federal safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment.
• Lead and mentor assistant installers/helpers on job sites, instilling proper installation techniques and safety habits.

• Willing and able to complete pre-employment criminal and financial background checks, as well as drug testing.
• Able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds without assistance; able to work outdoors in all weather conditions; able to perform work on uneven surfaces; frequently climb ladders, work from various heights, and in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces; must be capable of bending, reaching, crouching, climbing, crawling, walking, standing, and sitting for long periods.
