Job summary

The ComfortMD in Cleveland, OH is hiring a Lead HVAC Installer to oversee residential and light commercial installation projects from start to finish. Role Description

The Lead HVAC Installer is a full-time, on-site role responsible for overseeing residential and light commercial HVAC installation projects from start to finish. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing and commissioning furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, mini-split, and related equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards. This role leads installation crews, assigns tasks, and ensures quality workmanship, safety compliance, and timely project completion. It maintains a clean and safe work environment and also ensures tools, equipment, and company vehicles are properly maintained. The Lead HVAC Installer will diagnose installation-related issues, coordinate with customers to explain system operation, review basic maintenance requirements, and ensure that each job supports energy efficiency and healthy home goals. Additional duties include completing installation paperwork, checklists, and all required job documentation, mentoring junior installers while promoting consistent installation practices and quality workmanship, collaborating with service, sales, and/or office personnel to ensure smooth job scheduling and completion, and lastly, to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction every time.

Qualifications

• Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction, including clear communication, professional conduct, and the ability to explain system features and maintenance recommendations.
• Proficient in Troubleshooting HVAC systems to identify installation issues, performance problems, and safety concerns, and implement effective solutions.
• Knowledge of EPA regulations / Understanding of HVAC installation procedures, safety practices, and applicable codes.
• Proven experience installing residential (and light commercial) HVAC systems
• Previous experience as a lead installer or senior HVAC technician, with the ability to supervise crews
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals; strong attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to work in various environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to handle on-call work once a quarter
