Job summary

Comfort by Design is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Fireplace Install Technician to oversee installation of gas, electric, and wood-burning fireplaces and venting systems. This role blends hands-on work with leadership, training apprentices, and ensuring safety and high-quality finishes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in installation with at least 2 years in a lead capacity, strong blueprint reading skills, and a track record of coordinating with contractors and homeowners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HVAC or fireplace installation experience, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
• Advanced knowledge of gas line installation, venting, combustion air, and electrical integration.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturer installation manuals; strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform installation of fireplace units, gas piping, venting, electrical connections, and finishing components.
• Plan daily work schedules and assign tasks to installation teams.
• Conduct pre-installation site inspections for readiness and code compliance.
• Train apprentices and junior technicians on safe installation techniques.
• Coordinate with contractors, builders, and homeowners to resolve challenges.
• Perform final inspections, tests, and system startups.
• Maintain documentation and assist with inventory and tools.
• Promote safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
