Job summary

Roy C. Garrett Company, part of the AIR Control Concepts family, is seeking a Lead HVAC Cooling Tower Technician in San Antonio, TX. This role combines hands-on field work with crew leadership to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on every site.

You will perform inspections, maintenance, and rebuilds of cooling tower systems, mentor crew members, and assist in site assessments for quotes. A strong background in towers and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on cooling tower service, maintenance, or construction experience.
• Experience leading a crew or supervisory field capacity.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and work orders.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and mentor field crew on all job sites.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on cooling tower systems.
• Replace fill media, drift eliminators, hot deck basins, and related components; gearbox and motor changes.
• Complete trim-outs and structural repairs; manage full cooling tower rebuilds to commissioning.
• Visit prospective sites to assess service scope and support quote generation.
