Roy C. Garrett, Inc. is seeking Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cooling tower systems and related HVAC equipment in the San Antonio area.

The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and efficient field service while collaborating with customers and supporting project needs on site. Requirements include at least 2 years of hands-on cooling tower experience, proficiency with gearboxes, motors, and drive shafts, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on cooling tower service, maintenance, or construction experience.
• Proficiency with gearboxes, motors, and drive shafts.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and work orders.
• Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on cooling tower systems.
• Execute service and cleaning of cooling towers to maintain peak operational efficiency.
• Replace fill media, drift eliminators, hot deck basins, and related components.
• Perform gearbox and motor changes, including alignment and commissioning.
• Complete trim-outs and structural repairs to restore tower integrity.
• Manage and execute full cooling tower rebuilds from tear-down through commissioning.
• Diagnose mechanical, structural, and operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts documentation.
