Job summary

Divcon is seeking a Lead Service Technician in Phoenix to provide on-site service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support for Delta Controls BAS. You will lead technicians, handle customer interactions, and ensure reliable, energy-efficient operation of building automation systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on field work, strong technical aptitude, and a commitment to service excellence, with opportunities for training growth and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with Delta Controls or similar BAS platforms.
• Advanced understanding of HVAC equipment, control devices, and BAS field wiring.
• Advanced networking knowledge (IP addressing, BACnet, MSTP).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, control drawings, and point lists.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of Delta Controls BAS.
• Support commissioning, system startups, point-to-point verification, and functional testing.
• Respond to service calls, alarms, and customer-reported issues in a timely manner.
• Perform firmware updates, configuration changes, and minor programming adjustments.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, system inspections, and health checks.
• Identify failing components and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with system optimization to improve performance and energy efficiency.
• Serve as on-site representative, maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Explain system issues and actions to customers in non-technical terms.
• Coordinate with customers regarding access, scheduling, and service completion.
• Document service activities, findings, and resolutions in the service management system.
• Record parts usage, system changes, and follow-up recommendations.
• Communicate recurring issues or improvement opportunities to leadership and engineering.
• Work with Service Engineers and project teams for escalations.
• Support handoff between project completion and ongoing service contracts.
• Participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate best practices, training and support for all technicians.
• Suggest training courses to leadership for technicians.
• Assist office team in quoting new service work opportunities.
