Methode Electronics in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design, analysis, and validation of high-voltage power distribution components including data-center busbars and power wiring harnesses.

You will drive NPD from concept to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams, applying GD&T, CFD/FEA, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role emphasizes materials knowledge and manufacturing feasibility.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in NPD, focusing on high-voltage power distribution or data center infrastructure.
• Proficiency in advanced 3D CAD platforms (Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA) and PLM software.
• Strong familiarity with copper fabrication, extrusion, over molding, and manufacturing assembly processes.

Responsabilidades

• Design & New Product Development (NPD): Specify, design, and develop high-voltage components, including data center busbars and high-power wire harnesses, with production-ready drawings.
• Vertical Busbar Engineering & Attributes: Optimize architectures with emphasis on electrical, thermal, mechanical, and insulation considerations.
• Analysis & Simulation: Collaborate with FEA analysts to define models and validate performance under load and fault conditions.
• Technical Documentation & Standards: Apply GD&T and ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME Y14.5, ANSI, UL 857 / IEC 61439-6).
• Materials Expertise: Apply knowledge of copper/aluminum conductivity, plating, insulation, and polymer selection.
• Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional gates from concept to production release, aligning cost, timeline, tooling feasibility, and customer specs.
