Methode Electronics is seeking a Senior High Voltage Electronics Engineer in Michigan to lead a technical team in designing, developing, and validating next‑generation high-efficiency power conversion systems. You will guide hardware architecture, planar transformer design, and PCB development from concept to production.

The role requires 5+ years in HV hardware, strong thermal management expertise, and leadership experience across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
• 5+ years in high-voltage hardware and board design with project leadership.
• Proven thermal management experience for high-power electronics, including PCB cooling strategies and heat sink integration.
• Demonstrated strategic technical and market strategy development and implementation.
• Direct experience designing, optimizing, and manufacturing planar transformers.
• 4+ years leading, mentoring, or managing engineering teams.
• Proven success designing multi-layer PCBs for 400V to 1kV+ environments.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro, alongside thermal simulation software.
• Strong knowledge of safety and manufacturing specs (IPC-2221, IPC-2152, UL 60950/62368).

Responsabilités

• Guide cross-functional technical teams from concept to production.
• Design advanced thermal solutions for high-power density PCBs.
• Integrate active and passive cooling systems.
• Design and optimize planar transformers and planar inductors for high-frequency HV power converters.
• Lead HV PCB layout architectures with embedded winding structures.
• Establish creepage, clearance, and isolation boundaries per safety standards.
• Simulate circuits, magnetics, and thermal performance using SPICE, PLECS, and thermal tools.
• Create schematics and oversee multi-layer, high-density HV PCB designs.
• Lead hardware testing, debugging, and compliance validation under extreme thermal conditions.
