Job summary

Lilly in Indianapolis is seeking a Lead Operator – Lilly Fire Rescue (LFR) to support and execute the emergency preparedness and response plan at our Indianapolis facilities. You will lead on-site contracted responders and coordinate with security, fire safety, and local agencies during emergencies.

When not responding, you will complete maintenance, inspections, and training activities, oversee life safety systems, and manage records.

Qualifications

• Indiana Firefighter I/II certification
• Indiana EMT-B or higher certification
• Hazardous Materials Technician certification
• Level A Suit PPE qualification
• Confined Space Rescue Technician certification within 6 months
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in HSE/Engineering or related field
• Strong incident command leadership and safety culture experience

Responsibilities

• Lead/coordinate on-site contracted responders and volunteer emergency responders.
• Provide fire suppression and EMS care as part of emergency response.
• Mitigate hazmat emergencies at plant sites.
• Perform/oversee life safety system inspections and testing.
• Maintain records/files and ensure preparedness readiness.
• Lead in emergencies as Incident Commander (NIMS).
• Maintain equipment and facilities in readiness for response.
• Oversee contract emergency response resources.
