Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a Lead Operator HSE to support and execute the Indianapolis emergency preparedness and response plan across Lilly sites. You will lead on-site responders and volunteers, coordinate with security and local agencies, and ensure readiness of equipment and systems to protect personnel and facilities.

The role requires extensive certifications and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certifications required: Indiana State Firefighter I/II, Indiana State EMT, Indiana State HazMat Technician, Level A PPE qualified, Confined Space Rescue Technician within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute Indianapolis emergency preparedness and response plan.
• Lead/coordinate on-site contracted responders and volunteers.
• Interact with security, fire safety systems, and external agencies (IFD, IMPD, etc.).
• Maintain equipment and facilities to readiness.
• Lead emergencies as Incident Commander (NIMS).
• Perform life safety systems inspections and testing.
