Job summary

The Bureau of Prisons is seeking a qualified payroll and leave administration specialist to ensure compliant, agency-wide policies across multiple sites. The role focuses on interpreting regulations such as FMLA and VLTP to standardize entitlements, timekeeping, and payroll accuracy.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
• Experience developing federal leave and payroll policies by interpreting complex regulations (e.g., Title 5, FMLA, OPM guidance).
• Experience supervising a payroll team responsible for processing actions, audits, and adjustments.
• Experience representing an organization in inter-agency HR policy discussions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement agency-wide leave and payroll policies across multiple sites.
• Lead leave administration operations including FMLA, VLTP, and related determinations.
• Supervise payroll staff and oversee biweekly pay actions and corrections.
