Job summary

Mohegan PA is seeking a Convention Services support professional to assist in preparing and maintaining event spaces for banquets and conventions. You will help set up environments with basic equipment, monitor cleanliness, assist guests with moving items, and keep back-of-house areas orderly in accordance with Banquet Event Orders and diagrams.

The role requires knowledge of liquor laws, food ingredients, and beverage service basics, with one year of convention services experience and English

Qualifications

• One year of Convention Services operations experience in a hotel with event space.
• Thorough knowledge of state liquor laws.
• Must be able to speak English as a primary language.

Responsibilities

• Physically establish the environment including basic event equipment for banquets/conventions.
• Assist in monitoring the event space for cleanliness and maintenance.
• Assist guests with movement of equipment, materials or boxes as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness of storage rooms and back-of-house areas for ballroom and convention center.
• Maintain neatness and accuracy of sets according to Banquet Event Orders and diagrams.

**Position Summary:**This position is responsible for supporting the Convention Services Floor Operations Supervisors with operational duties and functions, including the preparation of event space for all functions.**Primary Duties and Responsibilities****:** includes but not limited to:* Responsible for physically establishing the environment including basic event equipment for all banquets/conventions inside or outside the Convention Center* Assists in monitoring the event space for cleanliness and maintenance* Assists guests with movement of equipment, materials or boxes as needed* Responsible for cleanliness of storage rooms and back of the house areas for the Ballroom and Convention Center* Responsible for neatness and accuracy of physical sets according to Banquet Event Orders and diagrams**Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:*** Follows all departmental safety and sanitation techniques and policies and procedures* Knowledge of alcoholic offerings and wine menus* Knowledge of food menus and ingredients* Knowledge of all Fire Marshal requirements**Minimum Education and Qualifications:*** One year of Convention Services operations experience in a hotel with event space* Thorough knowledge of state liquor laws* Must be able to speak English as a primary language**Competencies:** Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Knowledge of operational policies in regards to hours of operation, types of menus offered, restaurant concepts and marketing programs* Basic knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, glassware, garnishes and beverage service techniques* Good understanding of food products, including sauces, dairy and cheeses, cuts of meat, fowl and fish, fruits and vegetables, pasta, breads and starches and desserts and pastry* Knowledge of Ballroom, Convention Center, storeroom locations and various catering areas throughout the casino* Knowledge of point of sale systems* Working knowledge of Air Wall system**Training Requirements:*** SMART alcohol awareness* Server Safe Training**Physical Demands and Work Environment:*** Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.* Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time* Must be able to work in outside elements, as needed* Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions* Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hoursThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with the job.
