Job summary

Homewood Suites by Hilton Milwaukee Downtown is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the hotel’s engineering department and oversee maintenance of the physical structure, systems, and guestrooms. You will proactively manage equipment upkeep, lead a maintenance team, and ensure safety and quality in all repairs and improvements.

The role requires 5+ years in maintenance or engineering, a High School diploma, and certifications in electrical/plumbing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance or engineering experience
• Strong leadership and team development abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Valid driver’s license may be required

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain the building, systems, and equipment; plan preventative maintenance and coordinate with contractors when needed.
• Ensure completion of grounds and custodial work as needed.
• Use tools and power equipment safely following guidelines.
• Perform repairs including plumbing, painting, carpentry, sheetrock, and electrical work.
• Prioritize repairs affecting guest experience and hotel operations.
• Communicate with hotel departments to ensure timely maintenance responses.
• Train and support the engineering team; follow hotel emergency procedures.
