Job summary

Bazaar Meat by José Andrés in Washington, DC is seeking a Lead Host to guide the Front of House team and oversee the host stand, reservations, and seating. You will ensure every guest receives a warm, polished welcome and farewell while coordinating with managers and servers to maintain guest satisfaction.

In this role, you will lead by example, coach the Host Team, manage VIPs and large parties, and maintain accurate reservation notes and seating plans during high-volume services.

Qualifications

• Previous host or restaurant hospitality experience is required; luxury or fine-dining experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of reservation and table-management systems.
• Excellent verbal communication and guest-relations skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to coach and support other team members professionally.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Host Team to deliver a warm, polished welcome and farewell to guests.
• Oversee the host stand, reservations, and seating flow to optimize service pace.
• Coach hosts on greetings, phone etiquette, reservation procedures, and guest recognition.
• Coordinate with managers and service team to communicate guest notes and preferences.
• Maintain organized host station, menus, and guest profiles; handle opening/closing duties.
