Job summary

Gibson Hotel Management, Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer for a Pigeon Forge, TN hotel. You will lead the maintenance team, supervise building systems, and ensure safe, cost-efficient operations to enhance guest experience and profitability.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, hands-on maintenance skills, and a passion for service in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive maintenance supervisory experience in hospitality.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical/electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and basic construction.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Hands-on with daily hotel maintenance.
• English literacy and customer service orientation.
• Associates degree in mechanical/electrical fields or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team.
• Oversee safe, economical, efficient hotel maintenance per policies.
• Plan regular inspections and manage preventive maintenance.
• Develop programs for guest rooms, HVAC, laundry, kitchen equipment.
• Monitor outside contractors and service contracts.
• Develop energy conservation programs to reduce expenses.
• Maintain sanitation and safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment records and inventories.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to maximize room availability.
• Train staff on documentation and safety procedures.
