Job summary

Cottonwood Canyon Healthcare Center is seeking a Cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role requires ensuring a safe, clean kitchen and preparing meals for residents in large quantities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, hospital/long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate. You will follow menus, supervise dietary staff as needed, and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure nutrition and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for not less than one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods; cooperate with other departments.
