Jourdanton Nursing and Rehabilitation in Texas seeks an experienced hospital/long-term care cook to manage daily kitchen operations and prepare meals according to approved menus and diets.

You will maintain sanitary cooking areas, record temperatures, assist with serving, and provide training to dietary staff, with supervision in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe Certificate required.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Ability to prepare meals for large quantities.
• Ability to follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Ability to work in cooperation with dietary staff and supervisors.

Responsabilités

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures for meals; prepare pureed foods.
• Assist with serving meals and supporting dietary staff.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor; train dietary staff.
