Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Lead Food Services position to assist in operating Food and Nutrition services as the lead staff member in a specific area. Responsibilities include tray assembly, simple food preparation, serving, replenishing stations, cash handling and transporting carts with timely execution.

Qualifications include HS diploma or equivalent, 3 years in hospitality with 2 years lead/supervisory experience, and food safety licenses.

• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to perform essential functions.
• Ability to communicate with patients, physicians, family, and coworkers with customer service focus.
• Knowledge of computers, word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, anticipates potential customer problems and resolves patient and visitor issues with high service levels.
• Assists management in training and overall operation of food service, service standards, menus, cashiers and sanitation.
• Contributes to improvement of department scores for employee engagement.
