Job summary

Shriners Children’s Spokane is seeking a full-time Sr. Cook to prepare meals for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves leading cooks, ensuring safety standards, and addressing diet requirements in a hospital setting.

As the person in charge in the manager’s absence, you will oversee portion control, sanitation, and recipe development while supporting a dynamic team committed to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• WA State Food Handlers Card required.
• 2 years’ experience in medical, university or corporate dining with a HACCP program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan cooking schedule and quantities to ensure high quality product.
• Maintain food safety guidelines for storage, reheating and temperatures.
• Guide servers on portion sizes and serving techniques.
• Assist with modified diets and refer to the department diet manual as needed.
• Setup and prepare food for cafeteria, events, and meetings; keep area clean and sanitized.
• Assist Supervisor in evaluating and creating new recipes and train staff.
