Job summary

SimsHD Heavy Moving Solutions is hiring a hoist technician in Florida to install, inspect, and service mast-climbing hoists and related equipment. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control systems, perform load testing, and document results while adhering to safety standards.

You will train apprentices and help grow into leadership roles as our hoist division expands, with opportunities for certification and career advancement.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hoist experience with Champion hoists preferred.
• 2+ years servicing hoists/overhead cranes or 3+ years as industrial maintenance technician/electrician.
• Must read electrical schematics, diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install, erect, dismantle mast-climbing hoists; inspect, maintain and repair.
• Troubleshoot motors, brakes, gearboxes, VFDs, pendants and radio controls.
• Install and commission new hoists; perform load tests and document results.
• Perform inspections to OSHA 1910.179, 1910.184, ASME B30 and ANSI A10.4.
• Inspect wire rope, chain, slings and rigging hardware.
• Read electrical schematics and manufacturer manuals.
• Complete preventive maintenance and suggest repairs/upgrades.
• Write inspection reports and service tickets on tablet/laptop.
• Train and mentor apprentices toward leadership roles.

Champion hoists experience

Hoists & overhead cranes service

Electrical/PLC/VFD troubleshooting

OSHA/ASME/A10.4 standards

Work at heights up to 300 ft

Driver's license with clean record

English reading/writing

Background check & drug screen

CMAA/CCO/NCCCO crane inspector cert

Rigger or Signal Person credential

OSHA 10 or 30 cert

Aerial lift or forklift cert

Electrical/industrial maintenance deg

Experience with major hoist brands

Education

High school diploma or GED

Technical/associate degree in electrical or industrial maintenance

CMAA/CCO/NCCCO crane inspector certification
