Job summary

United Urology Group is seeking a Histotechnologist Lead in Beltsville, MD to oversee tissue processing and slide preparation for pathologists. You will supervise histology workflows, ensure compliance with CAP/CLIA, and support project initiatives under the Laboratory Manager or Director.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or NAACLS certificate) and ASCP HT/HTL certification, with at least five years of histology experience and familiarity with digital pathology.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of Histology experience.
  • Immunohistochemistry experience is strongly desired.
  • Digital Pathology experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Laboratory Manager or Director with scheduling efforts and workflow design.
  • Accessioning, grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping of slides for microscopic analysis.
  • Load specimens on the processor, ensuring quality and timeliness of production.
  • Modify and validate procedures for immunohistochemistry and other staining.
  • Maintain meticulous records of specimens, procedures and results.
  • Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and documentation of samples.
  • Assist the Laboratory Manager in meeting regulatory agency requirements (CAP, CLIA, etc.).
  • Perform quality control procedures and document results.
