Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; we do not sponsor visas.
• This position is on-site and has no remote work option.
• Incumbents act as lead workers and assist the Supervisor I, with training and performance input.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of highway maintenance equipment (e.g., snowplow, grader, backhoe) and perform routine maintenance.
• Establish traffic controls and reroute traffic in maintenance zones.
• Install/repair roadway signs, markings, and related fixtures; maintain landscaping along right-of-way.
• Lead lower-level staff, schedule activities, and provide input for performance evaluations.
• Respond to emergencies, coordinate with agencies, and document work and incidents.
• Monitor contract compliance and quality control; maintain records in MMS.
