Job summary

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) in Austin, Nevada is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker 4 to lead and operate a range of highway maintenance equipment within the crew boundary. This is a safety-sensitive position essential for snow/ice operations and emergency response.

The incumbent acts as a certified equipment operator, trains lower-level staff, and serves as an assistant to the Highway Maintenance Supervisor I when needed. On-site duties cover US 50 and local state routes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventive maintenance and minor repair on a variety of highway maintenance and construction equipment.
• Act as designated certified operator for certification of Highway Maintenance Worker I’s and II’s; oversee equipment operation and provide training.
