Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a motivated High School Lead Teacher to guide students across core subjects with a data-driven approach. You will collaborate with grade-level teams to design and adapt lessons that drive mastery and growth, while building strong relationships with families and colleagues.

You will lead diagnostic assessments, track progress, and adjust strategies to ensure all students meet learning objectives. This role emphasizes equity, rigor, and a supportive school culture.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid NJ teaching certification or meet GPA requirements to teach in NJ.
• If you graduated after Sept 2016: GPA on conferred degree ≥3.0 or 2.75–3.0 with passing Praxis exams.

Responsibilities

• Create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans with grade-level team.
• Use data to teach to mastery of academic skills.
• Work with students, families and colleagues to support progress.
• Uphold classroom management techniques.
• Assist with diagnostic and progress monitoring testing.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies.
• Update student performance trackers to inform lessons.
• Participate in school, departmental and parent meetings.
• Participate in school events and activities.
