Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a motivated High School Lead Teacher to guide students across core subjects with a data-driven approach. You will collaborate with grade-level teams to design and adapt lessons that drive mastery and growth, while building strong relationships with families and colleagues.

You will lead diagnostic assessments, track progress, and adjust strategies to ensure all students meet learning objectives. This role emphasizes equity, rigor, and a supportive school culture.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid NJ teaching certification or meet GPA requirements to teach in NJ.
• If you graduated after Sept 2016: GPA on conferred degree ≥3.0 or 2.75–3.0 with passing Praxis exams.

High School Lead Teacher

KIPP New Jersey is looking for a motivated teacher with a track record of molding future leaders in our communities. You are passionate about education and understand the importance of building strong relationships in generating student achievement. You are dedicated to going above and beyond to ensure our students succeed.

We are looking for teachers in the following subject areas:

• English Language Arts (ELA)
• History
• Math: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, or Calculus
• Science: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
• College and Career Readiness
• Enrichment: Physical Education, Music, Art, Theatre, etc.
• Foreign Language: Spanish

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans in accordance with academic curriculum, working closely with the grade level team.
• Use data to responsively teach to mastery of academic skills.
• Work closely with students, families and colleagues to create an environment that is supportive of student progress.
• Reinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniques.
• Help with diagnostic and progress monitoring testing across the school
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure all students meet the learning objectives.
• Update student performance trackers and use data to help guide your lesson plans.

Certification Requirements

• Hold a valid teaching certification in NJ –or–
• Meet The GPA Requirement
• If you graduated after September 2016:

  • Have a bachelor’s or master’s GPA on a conferred degree that is between 2.75 and 3.0 AND demonstrate that you have passed all required Praxis exams with
