Job summary

Indianapolis Public Schools is seeking a Head Swim Coach to lead the high school swimming program. You will train, coach, and develop student-athletes, both in-season and through programming that promotes athletic and academic excellence.

The role requires familiarity with IHSAA/NFHS rules, CPR/AED and lifeguard certification, and a proven ability to recruit and mentor students while upholding the district's standards of ethics and conduct.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in Education preferred.
• High School coaching experience with prior head coaching experience preferred.
• Familiar with Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules concerning swimming and competition.
• CPR/AED and Water Safety/Lifeguard certified
• Ability to motivate, teach, and recruit qualified student athletes.
• The varsity position requires deep knowledge of the sport.
• Exhibits high standards of professional ethics and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the high school swimming program.
• Oversee training, execution, and growth of the swim team, inside and outside the pool.
• Monitor academic progress, community service, and engagement of student-athletes.
• Plan team travel, manage home meets, and oversee social media and program presentation.
