Job summary

Indianapolis Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Head Tennis Coach to lead a high school program focused on skill development, sportsmanship, and academic achievement. You will guide players, plan tryouts, and collaborate with the Athletics Director to build a competitive team.

The role requires knowledge of IHSAA rules, strong leadership and communication, and a commitment to student-athlete growth on and off the court. This position is based in Indianapolis with a district-wide impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis in education.
• Minimum 3 years of high school coaching experience; head coaching preferred.
• Familiarity with IHSAA/NFHS rules; coaching certification preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification; concussion protocol knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Follow IPS and IHSAA rules, regulations, and guidelines for Tennis.
• Instruct and demonstrate skills for individual and team development.
• Plan, organize, advertise, and conduct tryouts; inform participants of final selections; communicate cuts.
• Develop training programs and practice schedules.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and promote community service.
• Travel with team to contests; schedule events; maintain records; enforce discipline.
