Job summary

The Iowa Department of Corrections in Fairfield, IA is seeking a Community Corrections Supervisor for the High Risk Unit to lead HRU operations and oversee staff safety, equipment, and evidence procedures. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college with any field degree.
• ILEA certification required; valid driver’s license.
• Experience in human services, criminal justice, or corrections preferred.
• Ability to apply correctional principles and treatment philosophies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate direct reports, assign work, manage schedules, and handle personnel actions.
• Administer policies in line with the Iowa Code and ethical requirements.
• Represent the district on law enforcement and partner-agency committees.
• Coordinate officer schedules to ensure secure transportation for hearings and transfers.
• Develop procedures that comply with state laws and DOC policies.
• Compile, interpret, and communicate district statistics to leadership.
• Conduct critical-incident reviews to ensure actions align with policy and law.
• Lead as part of the district leadership team and participate in special assignments.
