Job summary

Iowa Department of Corrections in Fairfield, Iowa, seeks an experienced Community Corrections Supervisor for the High Risk Unit. You will supervise HRU operations, support staff safety, coordinate with law enforcement partners, and oversee equipment and evidence procedures.

You will apply correctional leadership principles, supervise personnel, and work with multiple units statewide to ensure secure transportation, investigations, and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Supervisory, leadership, and affirmative personnel actions experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to apply strategic planning and project management to HRU programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate direct reports, assign work, manage schedules, and handle personnel actions.
• Administer policies and procedures in line with Iowa Code and ethical requirements.
• Coordinate with security, law enforcement, and partners across Iowa on HRU operations.
• Oversee equipment and evidence procedures, including vehicle safety and custody of property.
• Develop and implement compliant departmental procedures and report statistics to leadership.
• Coordinate officer schedules for secure transportation and participate in leadership tasks.
