Qualifications

  • MS degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other applicable technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience related to DoD Nuclear Survivability in Hostile and/or Natural Space Environments.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear physics, particle physics, and/or solar physics.
  • Theoretical background in mathematics and statistics.
  • Experience with M&S tools that model nuclear effects (GEANT4, MCNP, ENDF, NJOY, or DIORAMA).
  • Strong problem formulation and analysis skills.
  • Previous research, development, and analysis experience.
  • Sponsor engagement experience and ability to work with Sponsors.
  • Experience leading technical efforts.
  • Strong multi-tasking and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership attributes and mentoring staff.
  • Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret; US citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead A5B-4 section staff and assist the group supervisor.
  • Develop physics codes, modeling & simulation, and analysis tools.
  • Interface with Sponsors and manage cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Mentor and coach staff; support staff development and performance reviews.
  • Plan capacity, facilities, computing resources, and infrastructure needs.
  • Oversee staff planning, task delegation, and hiring processes.
