Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in the Baltimore-Washington area seeks a Branch Chief Engineer to lead the A4 Non-Kinetic Warfare Branch. You will set engineering standards, guide multidisciplinary teams, and align technical work with AMDS strategy.

Ideal candidates have a MS or higher in Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and an active TS clearance. PhD and line management experience are a plus. This role offers high-impact programs and opportunities to mentor staff.

Qualifications

• MS or higher in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex engineering programs.
• Active Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Establish and uphold engineering standards, technical quality, and systems integration discipline across the Branch.
• Lead cross-Branch and cross-Sector collaboration to enable execution of strategic objectives.
• Mentor and develop staff to strengthen technical depth and leadership.
• Contribute to development of branch priorities and alignment with AMDS strategy.
• Lead or contribute to high-visibility programs and technical reviews.
