Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science field with 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.
• Master's degree in science field with 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license issued by DOH/Office of Professions required.
• ASCP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work and daily operations of the Laboratory employees.
• Provides Quality Control Measures for test procedures.
• Prepares work schedule, assigns and prioritizes work to staff.
• Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems.
• Recruit, interview, select employees and provide effective recommendation for hiring.
• Advises and orients staff on policies and procedures.
• Apprises management of problems beyond the scope of own knowledge.
• Organizes and provides direction to in-service meetings.
• Reviews and submits departmental payroll.
• Ensures all laboratory personnel maintain accredited licensing and certification.
• Maintains adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
